At Hootsuite, the VP Product role is a strategic, cross-functional role requiring a strong mix of talent and personality. In this role you will bring cohesion and coordination to our team of smart, entrepreneurial, product visionaries, allowing them to drive a suite of successful products. An innate thought leader, you build passion and consensus both internally and externally. Working cross functionally with our leadership team, you will create, communicate, and deliver against both short term and long term product vision; actively collaborating with stakeholders in the context of Hootsuite’s culture and business objectives.

Ultimately, your mission is to add business value and create competitive advantage for Hootsuite in a hyper-growth environment by creating and communicating both short term and long term product vision, owing the product roadmap and sharing it openly with business partners and customers in the context of Hootsuite’s culture and business objective.

Responsibilities: 

  • Drive HootSuite full cycle product vision and collaborate with the executive team on product evolution.

  • Develop a strong team of product owners and designers.

  • Drive roadmap creation and negotiate with Engineering teams on timetables and deliverables

  • Engage online stakeholders to align on clear, actionable product strategy and priorities to deliver optimal results for our customers and  business.

  • Gather and analyze feedback from global market and go-to market team.

  • Manage scalable global product strategy and serve as the primary resource for competitive intelligence and analysis.

  • Lead, motivate, and develop managers and teams while building strong cross functional relationships.

  • Serve as a full cycle best in class point on product innovation, best practices and thought leadership, championing our  products and serving as a key company spokesperson both internally and externally.

  • Managing the entire customer experience from strategic planning to tactical activities - defining testing process and artifacts as needed for ensuring usability and customer hapiness.

  • Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research.

  • Assist in developing and implementing company-wide go-to-market plans, working with all business and engineering to execute.

  • Participating in analyzing potential partner relationships and key build vs buy, partner decisions for the solutions.

  • Conduct customer research and maintain a deep understanding of the customer’s requirements and industry trends to ensure the product is leading the industry

  • Define and document the product strategy and gain consensus with senior management

  • Recommend new opportunities based on market analysis, industry trends and customer perspective

  • Become outward thought leader in the market space via communication vehicles such as speaking engagements, blogs, published papers/articles, etc.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years product leadership experience in mobile,  web based or SaaS products with global scale or 5+ years of software product management experience at the leadership level.

  • Demonstrated strength  in four key competencies: Team Development, Product Vision, Execution, and Product Culture.

  • Computer Science or Engineering degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Experience working with usability and user interface designers and front-end developers

  • Ability to build intuitive relationship with users, business customers, executives  and engineers.

  • Experience collecting and synthesizing product input from multiple sources (users, testers, business development, partners, engineering, competitive products, management, etc.)

  • Proven experience designing and delivering global reach product roadmaps

  • Experience leading agile development processes from a product perspective.

  • Demonstrated track record of success in driving the entire product lifecycle, from conception to launch

  • Demonstrated success in leading mobile vision and strategy preferred.

Bonus Assets:

  • Experience with Social Media.

  • Experience managing multiple products/suite
